Deployment of quality management systems in the biological resource centres of the AgroBRC infrastructure

Abstract

The quality management system of a structure is a management support tool. This article presents several of the systems deployed or in the process of formulation in the biological resource centres of the AgroBRC/RARe research infrastructure. They form a panel of situations present in each of the five pillars (animal, environment, forest, microorganisms and plants), and represent the diversity that exists in terms of maturity, certification standards, and specific contexts. For each of the cases presented, we analyse the benefits perceived and the difficulties encountered. The external recognition of the level of organisation provided by certification is an expected goal of the research infrastructure. That is why it organises events for the biological resource centres to foster sharing experiences and improving the skills of the teams involved.
