EDITORIAL. Participatory Science and Research at INRAE

Abstract

Everyone can see that the relationship between science and society is marked by a certain ambivalence, made up of questions, sometimes strong expectations, but also uncertainty, skepticism and even criticism on the part of citizens. This context, as well as global challenges marked by urgency and uncertainty, create unprecedented expectations of research and innovation, and call for closer ties between the world of research and society. Our institute is particularly concerned by this issue, given the close proximity of its research themes to the everyday lives of the French.
It is therefore with great and sincere pleasure that I sign the editorial of this first special issue of NOV'AE, and thank those who have prepared it, as well as to all colleagues involved in participatory science and research approaches.
