Development of an automatic feed dispenser for poultry called BIRD-e: Bird Individual Ration Dispenser-electronic

Abstract

The unit UMR-Biology of Birds and Aviculture and the unit PEAT from Val de Loire center have worked together to develop and design an electronic feeding dish for chicken on the ground. This
innovative device allows exact and continuous weighings of the feeding and weigh of the animals. This beakthrough allows thinking about new perspectives in the research and developing of accurate poultry sector. This will allow, for example, to improve animal selection on the feed efficiency or to set out new feed formulas. Moreover, this device allows well-being measuring of animals.
