Overview of resources to support the use of animals for scientific purposes within the regulatory framework

Abstract

Over the years, a number of initiatives have been set up to support and facilitate the implementation of regulations on the use of animals for scientific purposes. Their common aim is to meet the needs of stakeholders by promoting access to reliable information, the sharing of knowledge and practices, discussion of the difficulties encountered, and the implementation of actions to resolve them. These initiatives take a variety of forms, such as associations set up by groups of players from public and private research, networks formed by specific groups, or resource centres placed under the aegis of the relevant ministries and offering information accessible to all.
