The National Committee for Ethical Reflection on Animal Experimentation (CNREEA)

Abstract

The National Committee for Ethical Reflection on Animal Experimentation (CNREEA) is a multidisciplinary advisory committee associated with the National Commission for the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes (CNEA). This committee is responsible for advising public authorities on animal protection matters. It has published the National Charter on the Ethics of Animal Experimentation and operational guides for the animal experimentation ethics committee (CEEA), which complement existing legislative texts. The CNREEA prepares the annual report of the ethics committees and publishes methodological recommendations aimed at improving the well-being of animals used for experimental or other scientific purposes. All information regarding the composition, operation, and productions of the National Committee is available on the website of the ministry responsible for research.
