Organisation of the supervision of the use of animals for scientific purposes at INRAE

Abstract

Interview with Françoise MEDALE and Muriel VAYSSIER by Élodie GUETTIER
As a research institute, INRAE is home to more than fifty structures approved for the production, supply and use of animals for scientific purposes. To better coordinate actions relating to regulatory compliance, animal health monitoring and animal welfare, INRAE set up a delegation in 2024. Élodie Guettier interviews Françoise Medale, who is in charge of setting up a coordination committee in 2019, and Muriel Vayssier, who was appointed in January 2024 to lead the INRAE delegation on animal experimentation.
