Hiboù: keep an eye on biodiversity

Abstract

The article presents Hiboù, which aims to centralize and harmonize biodiversity and landuse data across its national sites. The project aligns with the institute’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility strategy by mapping INRAE-managed areas to better protect and restore biodiversity. Hiboù relies on a geospatial database (PostgreSQL with PostGIS extension) that consolidates locally managed information. Data is published on Geodata INRAE for broader accessibility. By leveraging pre-existing data and integrating new contributions, Hiboù provides a national “snapshot” of INRAE areas, facilitating ecological site management and information sharing across units.
