NOV'AE is a reference journal that has been disseminating the evolution of expertise and skills at INRAE for over 40 years to meet the needs of its scientific communities.

NOV'AE has a strong HR dimension, promoting the engineering skills, creativity and inventiveness of INRAE staff in the service of research.

NOV'AE offers two types of publication:

• regular articles published as they become available, with an average delay of 6 months after submission, grouped together in the current issue for the year (between 10 and 20 per year);
• special issues on a particular theme: CSR, Well-being of animals in experimental facilities, Agronomic resources for research, Science and participatory research for the most recently published issues (one issue every 1 to 2 years).

The articles are published in open access in digital format on this bsite. Special issues are also printed in limited editions. The editor-in-chief can be contacted to request a copy.

NOV'AE is also open to innovative formats: articles including sketch-notes (see here an exemple), articles in video format, etc.

Articles are reviewed by peers chosen for their recognised expertise in the subject and without conflict of interest.

The journal supports its authors, either through personalized assistance during the submission process, or through writing workshops.

NOV’AE journal was published under the title Cahier des techniques de l’INRA from 1983 to 2021 (ISSN 0762-7939 and e-ISSN 2534-5710).

All articles published since 2004 are available on this site.

NOV'AE journal, owned by the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE), is published and distributed in open access according to the ‘diamond’ publication model. Authors are not charged for the open access publication of texts, either at the time of submission or after the validation process has been completed. Supported by the Open Science Directorate (DipSO), the journal is entirely funded by INRAE through public funding.
